Endovenous Ablation

Endovenous ablation is a minimally-invasive, outpatient procedure performed using imaging guidance. The physician inserts a catheter into the abnormal vein using ultrasound guidance and the ablation probe is guided up the great saphenous vein. Anesthetic is administered around the vein; again using ultrasound and radiofrequency or laser energy is then applied to the inside of the vein. Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to swell and stick together, and the blood to clot. Over time, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades from view.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Ambulatory Phlebectomy is generally performed to treat large, bothersome, often painful, superficial varicose veins that cannot be collapsed with standard endovenous ablation techniques. The procedure is performed in our clinic using local anesthesia. Diseased veins are removed through very small incisions or punctures. Because veins are collapsible, even very large veins may be removed through a tiny incision. After the procedure, steri-strips are applied and then covered with a compression dressing. Typically, the incisions require no stitches and leave nearly imperceptible puncture mark scars.
